It was definitely a hairspray kind of day at the beach. Thank you, Mom, for bringing your hairspray! The wind didn’t seem to bother Elle and Rob, however, as they ran back and forth across the sand. I’m not sure if it is a “twin” thing, but this brother and sister duo loved to hold hands. Each took turns leading the other through the woods and across the beach. I usually have to ask one sibling to hold the other sibling’s hand, but these two actually preferred to hold hands throughout the shoot. Adorable. I felt like I was photographing two little dolls, they were so cute! Loved the little outfits too…Mom and Dad, you are always so prepared for our shoots. She was the friendliest little girl I’ve ever met. As soon as the car door opened, she hopped out and asked me, “Hi!  Do you have a kid?” Kaycie’s eyes scanned the playground, looking for a new friend.  Over the course of our photo shoot, I learned all about her dogs (“Buster is the naughty one, Callie is always good”), school (“I have lots of best friends, some are girls and some are boys, but they’re all my friends”), and even the hairspray she was wearing for the shoot (“You have to smell this hairspray, it smells great!”).  Kaycie gave me a ton of smiles…such a happy little girl!  Toward the end of our shoot, she even called out to another little girl at the park and asked, “Do you want to be my new best friend?”  The other little girl was more than happy to oblige.  Callie and Buster, Kaycie’s fur-siblings were extremely easy to work with, and Mom and Dad were patient and simply amazing  🙂  Thanks for a fun day at the park!  It was great to see you all again!  Click HERE to see Kaycie’s last shoot with us. I prayed for nice weather on our way over to Cash’s shoot. As we neared the beach, the sky grew darker and darker, and I held my breath. Drops hit our windshield, and I cringed. This was a rainout makeup shoot for Cash and his family, and I NEEDED the skies to clear. We started off our shoot with overcast, grey skies. Despite the bleak situation overhead, it was great to see Cash again! It’s been a couple of years since we last saw him (he couldn’t even sit up at our last shoot), but he had the same amazing eyes that he stunned us with the first time around. As our shoot progressed, the skies slowly started clearing, and we had some blue in the sky for the last third of our shoot (thank goodness!).  Loved the relationship between Cash’s big brother, Ezrah (16 years), and their Dad. I felt like I was photographing two friends, not just family members. Thank you, Cash, for being so easy to work with, and for just being a little boy!  Loved that playful smile  🙂 Mom, Dad, Ezrah and Cash, thank you so very much for driving out…we had a great afternoon.

So many smiles!  As I perused through their images, I found that Maile and Maverick’s smiles were contagious 🙂  I just loved seeing all of that character come through in their little faces! It’s been a year since we saw Maile and Mav for a shoot, and they’ve grown so much since then. Click HERE to see their 2013 shoot. A year ago, Mav was just toddling along…struggling to keep up with his big sister. This time around, we could barely keep up with him! Maile and Mav took directions so well (of course, Mom’s “secret weapon” certainly didn’t hurt!).  I had such a hard time picking the photos for this post, because I saw so many smiles that I fell in love with.  Thanks for coming out, Mom and Dad…we had a great time (and a great dinner)!  Here’s your sneak peek:

The last time we saw little Kasey, he was a newborn (click HERE to see Kasey’s newborn shoot). It’s been a year since then, and now our little guy is turning one! He spent most of the shoot attempting to keep up with big brother, Kesan. No wonder Kasey was one of the most agile one year olds we’ve ever seen! Dad brought a tractor for the boys to ride (Dad has life-sized versions on his farm). On most occasions, Kesan apparently drives the tractor, and Kasey rides in the back…but Kesan did a great job of sharing his tractor, and let his little brother take the steering wheel for a few shots. I think Kasey was a little stunned at the generosity of his brother, and warily sat in the driver’s seat (all the while, keeping his eye on his big brother). Loved the “1” balloon, Mom!  Dad was “MacGyver”, and fashioned various contraptions to help the boys hold their balloons. Thanks for a fun afternoon, Mom and Dad!  It was great to see the boys again.  Can’t wait for our shoot next year…I’m taking you up on the offer to shoot on the farm! Here’s your sneak peek:

It’s our second Dylan in the same weekend!  This time around, we were blessed to meet Daniel’s new baby brother…he was a spitting image of his big brother! Click HERE to see Daniel’s 2013 shoot. Dylan had a head full of beautiful dark brown hair, and an amazing complexion for a newborn! I had to chuckle when I realized that we had the “Little Einsteins” theme song as our background music, thanks to several downloaded episodes on Dad’s iPad.  Poor Dad, bet you never thought you’d know every Nickelodeon Jr. theme song that ever existed, by heart! Mr. Smiles! Dylan gave us the biggest, happiest smiles  🙂  The smiles lit up his entire face, and he seemed to enjoy hamming it up for the camera! I loved how his mouth opened wide as he laughed his way through our shoot. I just wanted to squeeze and hug him as I browsed through his images. It was great to meet you, Mom and Dad! Poor Emma and Zoey, this was a shoot that was rescheduled about 5 times due to inclement weather. Click HERE to see our previous shoot with Emma and Zoey. Luckily for us, it was a great afternoon (a little windy, but at least no rain!). The beach was relatively empty, and the kids looked adorable in their matching attire  🙂  Loved the flowy white dresses and sparkle shoes (which were more than a little difficult to find in the sand toward the end of our shoot, LOL). As always, Mom was prepared with her props and cute ideas (thanks for always being so invested in your shoots!)…and we even started making plans for her next Christmas shoot in 2015! Alex is officially a big brother! Little Matthew looked like Alex as a newborn (click HERE to see Alex’s newborn shoot) with a swirl of cocoa. Matthew’s hair was slightly darker than Alex’s, but he was equally as cute! Matthew had beautiful long fingers and dark grey eyes. He even gave us a few gentle smiles! I can’t believe it’s been a year since our last shoot with Alex (click HERE to see Alex’s 2013 shoot), and so much has happened since that time! Alex has grown like a weed, and he became a big brother…he’s going to be a wonderful older sibling  🙂  It was great seeing you again, Mom and Dad…here’s your sneak peek:

Another rain out shoot for us (you’ll see quite a few, because we had to make some major schedule adjustments due to Hurricane Ana)…although technically, it wasn’t a rainout because Mom decided to do an switch her shoot from an outdoor to an indoor shoot (thanks, Mom!). Tyler really is one of the sweetest, gentlest little boys we’ve had the honor of photographing. He has always taken instruction easily, and never complains as we move swiftly from prop to prop. He doesn’t require any “warm up” period, and basically, is a dream to work with. Click HERE to see Tyler’s 2013 shoot.
