Little Daxx had eyes that could make an iceberg melt. His big, chocolatey brown eyes made my heart melt every time he opened them. Daxx was a little older than our typical newborn (we like to schedule our newborn shoots within the first 10-12 days of life…that’s when babies are the sleepiest and curl up the best), but he did fall asleep for us for a bit. He loved to be cuddled, and already learned to self-soothe by sucking on his hands. His big brother, Zayd (age 4 years), was absolutely phenomenal! Zayd was incredibly easy to work with, and took directions amazingly well…after all, not many 4-year olds can tolerate a squirming newborn on their backs for very long. He was not distracted by our various props, and gave us a prize-winning smile every time! Click HERE to see Zayd’s 1-year old shoot with us. Mom and Dad were extremely easy-going, which always makes for an easier shoot. Thank you for being so wonderful to work with. It was great to see all of you again! Here’s your sneak peek:

It was a perfect afternoon for an outdoor family shoot. I had my doubts as we drove over and the clouds turned dark grey, but our location turned out to be rain-free (well, at least until our shoot was over…it started drizzling as we drove home). We just saw little Emily about a month ago (click HERE to see our previous shoot with Emily), but we scheduled another shoot in because Mom’s family came in from various locations on the mainland, and what better excuse for a shoot than to do a family shoot! We saw most of Emily’s family about 4 years ago (click HERE to see their previous family shoot)…which was before Emily was even born. In fact, Big Sister, Maggie was younger than Emily is now at the time of that shoot. Our family was just as fun and beautiful as they were at our previous family shoot, and it was a pleasure seeing everyone again! Thank you for a great afternoon, everyone 🙂 Here’s your sneak peek:

I can’t believe how much these little guys have grown over the past months! The last time we saw Jacie and Jake, they were 3 months old (click HERE to see their last shoot with us). Since that time, they have developed their own little personalities! Jacie was a little ham 🙂 She loved to pose, and gave us the happiest smile (Daddy wins the award for demonstrating the most creative way to elicit a smile from a child!). Jake was a little trouper when it came to waking up from his nap…not a tear! He gave us sweet little smiles, which seemed to go along with his easy going personality. They tolerated their outfit changes well (thanks for bringing those adorable outfits, Mom!). Mom and Dad, thanks for sharing your sweet angels with us! It was great to see you all again 🙂 Here’s your sneak peek:

He never fails…every time Bradley goes out for a walk with Edson, he brings me back a flower. It’s usually a yellow or white flower, and he makes me guess what it is. “Momma, guess what I have for you? I’ll give you a hint, it has petals” It’s one of our little routines. One of the little routines that just makes me happy to be a mom. Today was Mother’s Day, and he didn’t just arrive with one flower, he brought home a “Mother’s Day bouquet”. * Sigh* I’m so lucky to be a mother 🙂
Hope all you Moms out there had a very special Mother’s Day! Hugs to all of you!

How did time get away from us like this? The last time we saw Emily, she was a newborn (click HERE to see Emily’s newborn shoot). Now, a 10-month old, Emily was sitting up, laughing, and crawling across our studio. Her big, brown eyes sparkled as she posed for us. Big sis, Maggie, posed for a few sibling shots (Mags has had a ton of experience posing for us…I think this is the 8th time that we’ve seen her!). Thanks for coming out to see us, Mom! I can’t wait to see you all next month for your family shoot, and then again for Emily’s first birthday party 🙂 We are so fortunate to have met such a wonderful family! We really appreciate your loyalty…and we love seeing you! Thanks for sharing your afternoon with us. Here’s your sneak peek:

He was a perfect mixture of Mommy and Daddy…all rolled into a little ball of cuteness! Sleepy baby Taycyn did a wonderful job of falling asleep for us. Dad initially wanted our “job to be easy” (i.e., “You don’t have to do a lot of props, just some natural stuff.”). We did a lot of “just baby” shots, and ended the shoot with a few props (I knitted the blanket, fishing hat and fish…and I just had to get them in there!). Thank you for including us in another one of your life milestones, Mom and Dad (click HERE to see their engagement shoot ,and HERE for their wedding). You’ve included us in your journey together, and we feel so fortunate to be able to enjoy it along with you 🙂 Welcome to the world, little Taycyn! Here’s your sneak peek:

We’ve been following him in the newspaper for the past week…and he continues to impress! Jordan, thank you for being such an easy-going person to work with. I think it runs in the family (click HERE to see his sister’s Senior Portrait photo shoot with us last year). Whenever I incorporate sports items/uniforms into a Senior Portrait shoot, I try to use the props without making the photo look overly “sports-teamish”. I have visions of my own intermediate and varsity softball photos, and I cringe at the thought of asking someone to kneel with a bat at their feet, or pose as if they were swinging a bat…all perfectly great poses for team photos, but not necessarily for a Senior Photo Shoot. Jordan did an amazing job of just looking natural…exactly what we were hoping for.
Thanks again, Jordan, and best of luck to you and your team for the rest of your season! Here’s your sneak peek:

We’ve had almost 6 weeks of less than desirable weekend weather. It’s been routinely sunny during the weekdays, but as Saturday morning arrives, so do the wind and rain clouds. After a couple of reschedules, we were finally able to hold Brian’s Senior Portrait photo shoot. The weather at our shoot location was absolutely beautiful, and so was the view. Great choice for a location, Brian! Our timing could not have been any better…because as soon as we got back to the car, the rain started coming down AGAIN. What luck! Thanks to you and your family for being so patient, and easy to work with. I think it was definitely worth it 🙂 Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, and we wish you all the best!
P.S. “Hi!” to your sister, Katie, from all of us 🙂 (Click HERE to see Katie’s Senior Photo Shoot with us.)

We’ve had quite a few “rain outs”, “wind outs” and “sick kid” rescheduling over the past couple of weeks (which means our schedule is quite full for the next couple of weeks). We also decided to take a family vacation to relax and recharge 😉 I’ll post some of our vacation photos soon (you can imagine how many photos this photography obsessed woman took in just one week…), but I thought I’d post 2 photos that I made 16×24 framed wall prints out of. I took these photos a couple of years ago during a weekend stay at the Ihilani (yes, I planned it specifically so I could take sunset photos). So happy I had a reason to print out two of my favorites! Here’s hoping that you’ll see these prints in person at a certain physician’s office 🙂

Fate brought us together 🙂 After a slight change of circumstances, Little Jordan’s mommy called me to schedule a newborn shoot on Friday. Fortunately, I previously cleared our weekend schedule because Edson and I were slated to work at Bradley’s school’s carnival on Friday and Saturday…and I thought we’d be too pooped to do a newborn shoot on Sunday. The stars were aligned however, and we were destined to meet this little angel…and we’re so glad we had the honor and privilege of meeting Jordan and her parents. I don’t think we could have asked for a better Mom and Dad. They faithfully followed our “Newborn Parent Instructions” handout, and came prepared for Jordan’s session. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for being so wonderful! Jordan was a perfect little sweetie. Hugs!
