Zayd and Daxx have a new baby sister!  Meet the lovely Qynn  🙂  Like her brothers (click here for Daxx’s newborn shoot, and here for Zayd’s one year shoot). She arrived to our studio with a head full of thick dark hair and a cute little smile for her sibling photo.  At 20 days old, Qynn was one of our older newborns. So glad we were able to schedule you in for your shoot, Qynn!  Hope brother’s baseball game went well too  🙂  Mom wanted a shot with the “flower ring”, thanks for bringing in the flowers, Mom and Dad (I know that meant you had to wake up even earlier to buy them!).  Welcome to the world, sweetie!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

P.S.  We are now scheduling for holiday shoots.  Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a shoot with us for your holiday cards.  Shoot slots are limited (in particular, the outdoor afternoon weekend slots), and are scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis.  We will be scheduling shoots through the end of October, and will use November for rain-out, sick client make up shoots only.

Meet sweet little Kaci. Meet little Evan! He won the award for “most hats” in 2016 (so far). Our little guy was perfectly content to lie there peacefully, as we plopped hat after hat on his head.  He was a dream to work with…and so were his parents.  Evan slept like an angel, and let us pose his little hands in the cutest positions  🙂  He even gave us a couple of smiles!  What a little cutie!!!  Thanks, Mom and Dad, for opting for the Baby First year package.  We can’t wait to see Evan at his next shoot!  Here’s your sneak peek:

We’ve been on a little break…preparing for potential knee surgery for Edson (which luckily, didn’t have to happen), Lu’au prep (my graduating class was hosting my school’s annual Lu’au this year), and a couple of commercial projects (more on this a bit later).  What better way to dive back in, than to start off with a newborn shoot!  Meet Lacey…beautiful in every way.  She had shiny black hair, and rose colored lips.  She did amazingly well with two of our tougher props (the hot air balloon and the carriage), and in general, made me remember why I love photographing newborns  🙂  Thank you, Mom and Dad, for driving out to meet us…I know it was a far drive, but it gave us the opportunity to meet you all–and for that, we are so very grateful!  It was an honor working with Lacey, congratulations again!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

We couldn’t wait to meet baby Cally!  We were all worried that she was going to arrive early (like her big brother, Taycyn), and we were going on our family trip the month before.  I texted Dad while we were on our trip to make sure that Mom and baby were hanging in there.  Luckily, Cally arrived very close to her expected due date, and she was the PERFECT age for our newborn shoot.  Thank you, Mom and Cally  😉  Mom and Dad wanted a “natural” shoot (parents always have the option of choosing the type of shoot they want for their little ones…natural, prop, or a mixture of both), featuring purples and pinks.  She did an amazing job of sleeping for us, and she kept her tiny little hands in perfect position throughout the shoot. Introducing Aiden, a little guy that I think is destined to be a very successful politician. He was extremely good-looking, and VERY vocal.  I don’t think he ever actually cried during our session (which is very unusual for an older newborn), but he sure vocalized a lot.  His stretching and yawning made me want to stretch and yawn too…he made it seem so satisfying! He laughed quite a bit at the beginning of our session, and made happy giggling sounds as he smiled. He grunted and moaned every single time we repositioned him…so adorable!  Oh Aiden, your cheeks were so squeezable, and I love how you fit perfectly in our moon prop. You looked so cozy, and seemed so relaxed the whole time. It was great meeting your equally handsome older brother, Ethan (5), who did an amazing job with the sibling shots. Mom and Dad, you are so lucky to have two wonderful sons! Thank you for driving out so very far to meet us. I know it was a long drive, but I’m so glad you came out. Thanks also for being so understanding about our schedule (we usually schedule shoots much earlier in a newborn’s life, but because we were on a family trip, we postponed the shoot until we returned). She had the same glorious hair that her big brother, Aiden, had when we did his newborn shoot 5 years ago! Tyler is big brother! We were incredibly honored to photograph little sister, Emi’s, newborn session. Like her brother, she was a sleepy angel (click HERE to see Tyler’s newborn shoot). Wow, looking back at our shoot with Tyler, I can’t help but notice how much our style has changed (and our prop selection)…but I liked that Mom wanted blocks incorporated into Emi’s shoot, to show some consistency between the shoots. Mom also requested the desk, which is a prop we haven’t used in a while, so we had a nice mixture of “prop” and “natural” type shots.  It was so great seeing all of you again. Tyler, you may have grown, but you are still a little cutie!  So happy that you have a sister to play with  🙂 You are going to be an amazing big brother.  Thanks for driving out to see us, Mom and Dad!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

If a newborn shoot is any predictor of personality, little Eli is one happy munchkin! He gave us little smiles throughout his entire session…what was he dreaming about? Loved his “monkey” theme! Thank you, Mom, for bringing his little monkey outfits. They were almost as adorable as Eli himself  😉  We didn’t have a jungle backdrop, so we used our yard for the hanging monkey shot. Congratulations, Mom and Dad, Eli is truly a precious little miracle (and judging by the smiles, he will be as mischievous as Dad!). Meet sweet little Colby…only 3 days old! He had the most beautiful, red lips, and cheeks that begged for us to pinch them  😉  He was a sleepy angel for our bucket shots, and had amazing neck strength for a baby his age. I couldn’t resist putting a Totoro  hat on Colby…it matched the colors in the backdrop and the blanket perfectly. He didn’t seem to mind…in fact, he let us put several hats on him before we moved on. Adorable! Dad, we also got your apple hat in  🙂  Colby loved being swaddled, and I could have cuddled with him for days. So tiny, so precious. Thank you for sharing little Colby with us, Mom and Dad!
