Happy belated 2021! I hope you are all well and safe. The past year has been full of challenges for everyone, but we are all seeing that light at the end of the tunnel 🙂 I’ve conducted intermittent photoshoots over the past couple of months, staggering my shoots and complying with the applicable rules imposed by our pandemic restrictions. I have scheduled, canceled, and rescheduled shoots… based off of the restrictions. Thank you to so many of you for being so patient and understanding! I am currently scheduling locations shoots, following the current state restrictions. Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a shoot and would like to discuss how these restrictions will impact our shoot size and location. Now on to the photo shoot…
It’s been a tough year for our Seniors. Most graduation activities have been either canceled or modified over the past year. College plans have been altered, and families have been affected. Even during this time of hardship, positivity and love have kept us afloat. I loved seeing cousins Kayla and Alyssa together. Their smiles and laughter reminded me of how resilient these teens are. They are on the verge of starting a new chapter in their lives. The location was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for a better day to do our shoot (it rained the day before and the day after our shoot). We were blessed with beautiful dresses, gorgeous hair and infectious smiles. Thank you girls (and moms!) for a great afternoon. I hope all of you are safe and healthy, and that you had a wonderful Easter weekend! Here’s your sneak peek.

Little did we know what would happen within the next week. This was the last photo shoot I did before our state implemented the “Shelter in Place” order. The orders were given within the next week. At least it was a beautiful afternoon, with an equally amazing family. Mom was referred by another family that we did a Senior Portrait shoot with. We are so fortunate to receive the best referrals from our clients. Thank you! Pierce, it was great meeting you and your family. I know this is a very unusual Senior year for you, but it is definitely a memorable one. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you and your classmates will be able to celebrate your final high school year safely. Luckily, we had the opportunity to meet you…and the timing couldn’t have been any better! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Wishing you the best in the upcoming years. I hope you all are staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. Please take care of your loved ones, and let them know how much they impact your life. In order to ensure the safety of our clients, we have postponed our shoots at the current time. Once the quarantine has been lifted, we will resume scheduling shoots. I will continue to post shoots that took place prior to the quarantine (some were holiday shoots)…so more smiles to come 🙂
This Senior Portrait shoot was done at the end of February. Kaimana was incredibly easygoing. His posing came effortlessly, and he was open to both beach and forest shots. The beach was relatively empty, and it wasn’t as windy as we’ve seen it in previous months. I know that this isn’t the Senior year that you expected, but knowing your positivity, you will see the silver lining in these challenging months ahead. Thank you for your patience! I should have known that Alex had previous modeling experience! She was a natural in front of the camera with a beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eye. Her makeup was gorgeous and flawless…and her hair looked amazing! Makeup artist, Dustin (Owner and Stylist of Texture Salon Hawaii) styled her hair and applied her makeup on site. Loved her look!!! Beautiful kimono was from Masako Formals Hawaii. Huge thank you to our mutual friends, M and her family. They graciously allowed us to use their house for the shoot preparation and shoot. She didn’t even blink an eye when I tromped into her house with my backdrop stands and studio lights. M also styled Alex’s wardrobe before, during and after the shoot. I always say that she is “my friend that knows everything”…because she really does! So fortunate to have your cultural expertise! Alex, you were stunning. You were both humble and relaxed in front of the camera. Thank you, Alex, for being such a strong and confident woman…and a special thanks to mom for being so easy to work with! Such a great Mom/Daughter team! Here’s your sneak peek:

This shoot brought back memories…I remember scouring for photos for my “Senior Page” in my high school yearbook (ok, we didn’t have digital images in my time, but I remember the process!). We combined a Family shoot with Kacie’s Senior Portrait shoot, because her family only needed a few family photos. I think the timing was perfect, because raindrops began hitting our windshield as we left the beach. Kacie, thank you for being so easy to work with. You and your family were incredibly natural and open to everything. I wish you all the best with your Senior Year! May it be full of excitement and memories that you will look back on and enjoy for years to come. Here’s your sneak peek:

Happy belated anniversary Mr. and Mrs. S! We were so honored to finally meet you in person (my parents have such wonderful things to say about the two of you…)! K, you have a gorgeous house, and an even more amazing family! Thank you for inviting us into your home for a warm and intimate shoot with your family. I loved the overall plan for spontaneity, coupled with a few more “formal” family photos (everyone always wants at least one photo where everyone is looking at the camera). I’ve always loved color, and I didn’t realize until I was processing your images, how cheerful your couch photos looked with the infusion so many brightly colored accents. I felt like the smaller accent pillows, magazines and block game really added some vibrancy…which was so appropriate for the kid photos! Our shoot was filled with laughter and energy, and finished off with a family dinner at dusk. Thank you again for your hospitality…it was such a pleasure meeting you all! I mixed some of the “formal” shots with some of the more candid/blooper shots in your sneak peek 🙂

Yet another shoot affected by our bout of horrible weather. Poor Johnny, thanks for being so flexible with your schedule (it was our third attempt at conducting our shoot). The conditions weren’t great, but at least it wasn’t raining. At least the beach was relatively empty (not exactly beach weather). Your choice of outfit was perfect for the shoot (and the weather conditions)! So sorry for the less than optimal beach weather, but it was so nice to finally meet you in person. We wish you the best of luck post-graduation!!! Here is your sneak peek:

Unfortunately, this was the start of several weeks of bad weather for our state. The skies were grey, but the water was still blue (this would change in some of our future shoots). The wind was coming off the ocean, but we were lucky enough to avoid the rain. I’m actually glad we didn’t reschedule our shoot, because the weather only got worse as the weeks progressed 🙁
I couldn’t believe how much Brad had grown since I last saw him. Our last shoot with Brad was back in 2009. I think he was younger than my own Bradley is now! We went from seeing an elementary school child, to a high school senior…such a journey. I’m sure there are many exciting things in store for you in the upcoming year, Brad! It’s a new chapter in your life, full of new experiences and friends. We wish you all the best! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Here is your sneak peek:

Can you believe the last time I saw Lindsay and Evan was back in 2010?! Click HERE to see their 2010 photo shoot. I can’t believe how much they’ve grown since then (well, I guess it has been over 6 years…). I just saw Camryn for her Senior Portrait photo shoot (click HERE to see her shoot), and she was just as gorgeous as she was last year!
It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon at the beach. The kids were just as easy to work with as they were back in 2010…I guess some things never change. I loved that Camryn and Lindsay had that sister bond thing going on. Evan was a great sport, and held his own against the girls! Mom, I can’t believe it’s been so long…we really need to catch up 🙂 Thanks for driving all the way out here to see us, Mom and Dad. At least it wasn’t raining this time around 😉 Here’s your sneak peek:

It’s Senior Portrait season, and we’ve been blessed with some simply amazing high school seniors this year! Andrew was no exception. He was easy-going, friendly and happened to be a great conversationalist. Seniors frequently need a “warm up” period before they feel at ease during their shoots. I remember my senior portrait shoot (a VERY long time ago) being quite uncomfortable…and it was worse because my mom was standing there, watching me struggle to look “natural” (I love you, Mom!). Andrew seamlessly transitioned from location to location…no awkwardness at all! He gave me his friendly, easy smile, and we moved on our way. He was such an easy person to talk to, which always makes our shoots easier (and makes their shots appear more natural). Thank you, Andrew, for being so wonderful to work with! I hope you were able to get all of that sand out of your shoes 😉 Here’s your sneak peek:
