Archive for 'NEWBORNS'

Oh little Christian, you have the best family, ever! Mom called me the week of his shoot to see if I had any availability for a newborn shoot.  I had a newborn shoot scheduled on Sunday morning, and afternoon shoots on Saturday and Sunday (as well as an appointment on Saturday morning). Mom sounded so incredibly sweet on the phone, and my heart physically hurt as she told me that she even bought little surf shorts and a fisherman’s outfit set for a newborn shoot. She sounded like an amazing person to work with, and I really wanted to meet her.  I was concerned about the scheduling, because Christian was already over 2 weeks old (newborn shoots are ideally scheduled within the first 2 weeks of life), and we are booked out with newborn shoots for the next 6 weeks (and by then, Christian would definitely be too old for a newborn shoot). Fortunately, I have the best clients, and we were able to reschedule our Saturday afternoon shoot  🙂  This gave us the opportunity to meet baby Christian and his wonderful family. Mom was even sweeter in person (…as if that was even possible!). Christian’s gorgeous grandmother, and his Lego-talented brother, Holden, also joined us for his shoot. I loved that the first words Holden said to me were, “I have a Lego TIE-Fighter.” Holden was a Lego enthusiast that loved Legos just as much as my son (boy did they make a pair!). Christian had the softest hair and “piano-player” fingers. His outfits were SO cute, and he stayed curled just long enough for us to get through our photos. Mom, it was so great meeting you and your beautiful family.  Your sons are absolutely charming!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Little Cameron is our last newborn for 2015! What a little cutie…he looked exactly like big sister, Kaycie  🙂  Click HERE to see Kaycie’s newborn shoot, and click HERE to see Kaycie’s 2014 shoot.  Cameron was so sleepy for his individual shots, and was so easy to work with! Kaycie was a pro at carrying her new baby brother (it’s one thing for an older sibling to be able to carry their new baby brother or sister, it’s another thing to be able to hold them in a pose that photographs well).  Congratulations, Mom and Dad…it seems like just yesterday we were shooting Kaycie in her newborn shoot!  It was great seeing all of you again this year, may little Cameron have a wonderful first Christmas!  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

P.S. We are officially fully booked for 2015!  Thank you for a great year  🙂  We are continuing to book shoots for 2016!

We initially had little Devon scheduled for his newborn shoot a week earlier (we schedule newborn shoots within the first 2 weeks of life…with days 7-10 being the ideal days for us). We had to reschedule his shoot for a week later (health of our newborns always comes first), and this time around our little guy was ready for us! He slept like a champ for his individual shots, and tolerated a multitude of outfits and props. Love that Mom and Dad brought their own football themed props (hmm, guess who their favorite team is?)! Big sister, Sophia, was beautiful. She posed like a princess for us while her baby brother was prepping for the shoot. Such a sweetie  🙂  Devon, you did an amazing job (and I really want to pinch your cheeks every time I see your photos!). It was great meeting you, Mom and Dad!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Sweet little Maya had the sweetest, brightest eyes.  Her big sister, Risa (almost 3 years old) had the same beautiful eyes 🙂  Baby Maya slept just long enough to get through the sibling shots, then decided that she wanted to see the world! In the meantime, Risa flashed her cute smile for us with every snap of my camera (Dad did tell us that she LOVED to have her pictures taken). I think Maya knew it was her time in front of the camera, and wanted to show us how beautiful her eyes and facial expressions could be…she was adorable! Risa, I hope you are enjoying the life of a “Big Sister”!  Thanks for driving out to see us, Mom and Dad…here is your sneak peek:

Every so often, we are blessed with a “smiley” baby  🙂  Every newborn is different, but when we do get a smiley little angel like Max, I end up with a million images…snapping away, just waiting for the next smile.  The smiles last for a flicker of a second, but they are so worth it.  Some people ask me if I Photoshop in newborn smiles.  Nope, all natural! Oh Max, you were a joy to photograph. He had perfect little lips, which of course, made his smiles all the more precious  🙂

The last image in this blog post is for you, Dad (sorry, Mom!).  Dad mentioned during the last few days of their pregnancy, that he liked the name “Max Power”.  I thought it was a super-hero type name.  Only later did I find out that it was actually Homer Simpson’s temporary name in a “Simpson’s” episode (which was actually quite entertaining…yes, I had to watch the episode after I heard the evolution of Max’s name).  Homer got his new name from a hair dryer setting. Don’t worry little Max, Mom and Dad didn’t name you after a power setting on a hair dryer. It really was a name that Dad liked… a lot!  Quote in the last photo is from the Simpson’s episode.

Thanks for coming out to see us, Mom and Dad.  We loved meeting little Max, he was the cutest!  Here’s your sneak peek:

We couldn’t wait to meet baby Mila! She was actually overdue, so we had to reschedule her shoot for a later date. She must have wanted to spend a little alone time with Mom before she met the rest of the world  🙂  Mila slept like a champ for us, which always makes our job so much easier! She was also our first official “Santa” baby of 2015. Mila’s eyes were beautiful, almost like she had eyeliner on them…lucky girl! Thanks for introducing us to Mila, Mom and Dad…she was an angel  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

Mom was the cutest! She filled out the Newborn Questionnaire that I send to parents prior to their shoot (so we can customize each newborn shoot), and checked off “Love it, have to have it” for each question on the form.  She then sent me a separate email, explaining that after seeing all of the newborn photos on the website, she couldn’t decide on any of the props or colors, because she loved everything  🙂  So sweet! Lucky for her, Keegan was a champion sleeper, and we were able to put him in several outfits, on multiple props and blankets without so much as a peep! Keegan had chocolate brown hair, and plump little lips.  Thanks for an amazing shoot, Mom and Dad…I hope Keegan sleeps as much for you (at night) as he did with us!  Here’s your sneak peek:

It had been almost two weeks since we saw little Parker in the hospital, and we couldn’t have been more excited to see our grand-nephew! He looked exactly how we remembered him…so tiny and precious! Parker couldn’t wait to meet the world, and made his debut a month early (we’ve had quite a few “early” babies this past month)! Our niece asked if we could do a “surfboard” shot, so I ordered a surfboard prop.  Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive in time for our shoot, but maybe we’ll be able to use it for his 1-year shoot  🙂  In the meantime, if anyone wants a “surfboard” shot…let me know (it arrived 2 days after his shoot).  Baby Parker had the cutest little nose, and he slept so well for us!  Our niece even brought her own blanket for us to use in the shoot.  Loved the design!  Congratulations, Mom and Dad. We can’t wait to see little Parker again  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

P.S.  Our holiday shoot schedule is almost completely full  🙂  Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to schedule a shoot with us. Thanks!

We were incredibly excited to meet Emily and her family. Emily was a referral from a wonderful friend…and we knew that any referral from him was going to be amazing  🙂  Emily’s parents were so patient and easy-going. We know exactly where Emily got her personality from! Even though she was one of our slightly older newborns, she slept like an angel. Emily had perfect lips that curled into the most adorable smile for a few shots. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for driving out to meet us, and for introducing us to your sweet little girl. The moment I heard his name, “Jonny”, I knew he was going to be a cutie!  He had the sweetest little cheeks, and the sharpest eyes.  He loved looking directly at the camera (which was fantastic for us!). We were beyond thrilled to find out that his cousin, Sophie, was going to join us for his shoot.  Click HERE to see Sophie’s last shoot with us.  We will be seeing Soph again in October for her own holiday shoot  🙂  Loved the “natural/classic” color theme and feel of Jonny’s shoot…so organic!  It was wonderful meeting you, Mom and Dad!  Here’s your sneak peek:
