Every so often, we are blessed with a “smiley” baby  🙂  Every newborn is different, but when we do get a smiley little angel like Max, I end up with a million images…snapping away, just waiting for the next smile.  The smiles last for a flicker of a second, but they are so worth it.  Some people ask me if I Photoshop in newborn smiles.  Nope, all natural! Oh Max, you were a joy to photograph. He had perfect little lips, which of course, made his smiles all the more precious  🙂

The last image in this blog post is for you, Dad (sorry, Mom!).  Dad mentioned during the last few days of their pregnancy, that he liked the name “Max Power”.  I thought it was a super-hero type name.  Only later did I find out that it was actually Homer Simpson’s temporary name in a “Simpson’s” episode (which was actually quite entertaining…yes, I had to watch the episode after I heard the evolution of Max’s name).  Homer got his new name from a hair dryer setting. Don’t worry little Max, Mom and Dad didn’t name you after a power setting on a hair dryer. It really was a name that Dad liked… a lot!  Quote in the last photo is from the Simpson’s episode.

Thanks for coming out to see us, Mom and Dad.  We loved meeting little Max, he was the cutest!  Here’s your sneak peek:

P.S. We are officially fully booked for 2015!  Thank you for a great year  🙂  We are continuing to book shoots for 2016!

The last time we saw little Maile was 6 years ago.We did her newborn shoot, and I had the pleasure of meeting Mom and Dad.   Click HERE to see her 2009 newborn shoot. Since then, Maile has become a big sister (twice!).  We met Malia and Moani this time around, and needless to say, I had to repeat their names in my head multiple times in order to keep all the “M”s straight in my mind  🙂  It was an early morning shoot, and although the beach was beautiful, we were fighting the rapidly rising sun (and wind). We managed to find a nice grassy area that was shielded from both the direct sun and wind, and spread out a beautiful blanket that Mom brought with her. Thanks for meeting me so early in the morning, Mom and Dad…I hope you all had a great breakfast after our shoot!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Sophie is my little muse.  We first met Sophie before she was one…and we fell instantly in love with her cute little face and warm, expressive eyes (click HERE to see Sophie’s most recent shoot; click HERE to see Sophie’s most recent solo shoot).  I am truly captivated by Sophie’s eyes and charming (and sometimes enigmatic) little expressions…it’s never a dull moment! Even when she isn’t smiling, I love the little smirk she gives us. It’s like she’s teasing us  😉  Very rarely will I have a little one that will remain in one place long enough to take close ups of their faces.  It’s even rarer that I find a child that will stare back into the camera for me, and when I do, I take full advantage of it. Sophie, your expressions are so full of character, and I could photograph you forever! Thank you, Mom and Dad for securing this private location for us (and thank you to Soph’s aunt and uncle for allowing us to use their beautiful home). Here’s your sneak peek:

We couldn’t wait to meet baby Mila! She was actually overdue, so we had to reschedule her shoot for a later date. She must have wanted to spend a little alone time with Mom before she met the rest of the world  🙂  Mila slept like a champ for us, which always makes our job so much easier! She was also our first official “Santa” baby of 2015. Mila’s eyes were beautiful, almost like she had eyeliner on them…lucky girl! Thanks for introducing us to Mila, Mom and Dad…she was an angel  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

I absolutely love this family! Brooke and Troy (and Mom and Dad, of course) are so EASY to work with. Click HERE to see their 2014 shoot. Even from our very first shoot with them 2 years ago, I fell in love with their sweet questions and comments, and happy smiles.  This year was no exception. Both Brooke and Troy took direction amazingly well, and didn’t complain about wardrobe and prop changes at all. Brooke-I’m so happy that your arm is OK, and that you got your cast off in time for our shoot…you did an amazing job  🙂  Troy- I just want to pinch your cheeks every time I see your angelic little smile! Mom and Dad, thanks for letting us share in your holiday memories again this year!  Here’s your sneak peek:

It was so great seeing Dylan again!  We just saw Dylan and his family a few months ago, and we were lucky enough to see him again for his Christmas photos  🙂  Click HERE to see Dylan’s previous photo shoot. I love looking at Dylan’s photos, especially the ones where he’s so happy, he’s clapping. His little mouth opens, and he has a sparkle in his eye. He particularly liked our chimney prop…he loved popping up and down, and expressed his joy by clapping and laughing. What a sweetie!  Thanks again for sharing your wonderful family with us, Mom and Dad! Here’s your sneak peek:

The last time we saw little Noah, he was barely a month old (click HERE to see his 1-month shoot). Fast-forward 7 months, and now Noah is sitting up and giving us big, bright smiles! Both Noah and David were full of happy smiles for us  🙂  Big brother David loved picking flowers and running on the open field. I smiled just seeing how happy and free he was! I have two younger brothers, and seeing Noah and David together made me think of that brotherhood bond my brothers had.  Soon, David and Noah will be baseball buddies, and will be sharing secrets that only brothers can share. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for sharing your wonderful sons with us!  It was great seeing all of you again  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

We always look forward to Emma and Zoey’s annual photo shoot (click HERE to see their 2014 shoot). Mom definitely wins the “most invested in our photo shoot” award…always planning almost a year in advance for her shoots.  This year’s shoot was no exception. We held a “stylized” shoot, where Mom decided to have a “Sugar” (Emma) and “Spice” (Zoey) theme.  Mom pre-made the gingerbread cookie dough, and pre-baked some gingerbread cookies the morning of our shoot (an amazing feat, considering we were at her house at 8:00 in the morning). She provided all her own props and outfits, even stringing Christmas lights and stars to make the background of her photos more interesting. She labeled all of the ingredients herself. It literally was a labor of love for her. Emma and Zoey did an amazing job! I think having a structured, real activity for them really helped us get some authentic smiles; they were truly having a great time pouring ingredients, mixing, rolling out the dough, and using their cookie cutters. Mom and Dad, thanks for setting up your kitchen for our shoot, and for preparing ahead of time!  The girls were adorable  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

I have to admit, I am absolutely mesmerized by Lily’s beautiful eyes. Big brother, Michael has those same soulful eyes. You just can’t help but feel drawn to their cute little faces and smile back at them  🙂  We first met Lily at her newborn shoot (yes, those eyes made their appearance, and we all swooned…).  Click HERE to see Lily’s Newborn Shoot.  Mom did a shoot with Michael when he was around the same age as Lily is now. Click HERE to see Michael’s 7-month shoot. The similarities between the siblings were uncanny-down to the hand/arm poses and facial expressions.  Michael was a little cutie too.  He was so well-behaved, and took direction so well. He really tried to help us with the sibling shots (which are notoriously the hardest shots to get), and he still managed to give us his happy little smile.  LOVED the dinosaur outfits that grandma made for them.  Yes, she actually sewed them herself.  SOOOO cute!  Thanks Mom, for being amazing as always.  Here’s your sneak peek:
