A year has gone by since we last saw Rob and Elle, and I can’t believe how much they’ve grown in just a year.  Last year (click HERE to see their 2014 photo shoot), they preferred to take photos together. They tended to be shy when I photographed them individually. This year, they were little hams! They loved taking their solo shots, and gave me the happiest, sweetest little smiles…all while looking at the camera  🙂 Oh Elle and Rob, please don’t grow up too quickly. I love your refreshing innocence and giggle inducing antics!  It was wonderful to see all of you again, Mom and Dad, here’s your sneak peek:

Sweet little Maya had the sweetest, brightest eyes.  Her big sister, Risa (almost 3 years old) had the same beautiful eyes 🙂  Baby Maya slept just long enough to get through the sibling shots, then decided that she wanted to see the world! In the meantime, Risa flashed her cute smile for us with every snap of my camera (Dad did tell us that she LOVED to have her pictures taken). I think Maya knew it was her time in front of the camera, and wanted to show us how beautiful her eyes and facial expressions could be…she was adorable! Risa, I hope you are enjoying the life of a “Big Sister”!  Thanks for driving out to see us, Mom and Dad…here is your sneak peek:

Our holiday season shoots are never complete without seeing Renyn and Lauryn! Click HERE to see their 2014 photo shoot. I first met this family when Renyn was less than a year old…I remembering propping him up because he wasn’t quite sitting on his own at the time. Since that time, we’ve seen them at least once a year. This year, we did the shoot at Renyn and Lauryn’s house. They were so very patient (we had to wait for the sun to go down…it was so bright!), and took directions incredibly well. Our shoot went flying by, and we were able to shoot at a variety of spots that day.  Mom and Dad invited us inside, and I was thrilled to see how many of our photos they used throughout the years.  Mom brought out calendars, books, cards and school projects.  Their walls showcased their individual and family photos…and it made us smile  🙂 I  absolutely LOVE when people use our photos (at least we know that you like them…and they aren’t just sitting on your CD or USB drive, LOL!). Thank you so very much, Mom and Dad, for sharing your wonderful family with us. We’ve enjoyed seeing them grow year after year, and we have special memories of each of your shoots (click HERE to see our “SPAM Musubi shoot”, where I literally danced with a musubi on my head to get the kids to smile…really, I have absolutely no shame, Edson can attest to that!).  Here’s your sneak peek:

Adrienne and Brynne are the sweetest sisters! Click HERE to see their previous shoot with us. This time they came equipped with the most adorable “Sisters” lockets that fit together like a puzzle.  Mom, sorry, you have about 200 photos of the “Sisters” lockets, because the girls loved them so much  🙂  I loved their beautiful matching Christmas dresses…great selection, grandma!  Ari and Brynne even brought out their little stuffed elephants, and wanted to pose with them at the end of our shoot.  It was a perfect way to end a muggy, hazy and very bright afternoon shoot (at least it wasn’t raining!).  Thanks for a fun shoot girls, it’s always wonderful to see you!  Mom and Dad, thanks for a great afternoon  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

Every so often, we are blessed with a “smiley” baby  🙂  Every newborn is different, but when we do get a smiley little angel like Max, I end up with a million images…snapping away, just waiting for the next smile.  The smiles last for a flicker of a second, but they are so worth it.  Some people ask me if I Photoshop in newborn smiles.  Nope, all natural! Oh Max, you were a joy to photograph. He had perfect little lips, which of course, made his smiles all the more precious  🙂

The last image in this blog post is for you, Dad (sorry, Mom!).  Dad mentioned during the last few days of their pregnancy, that he liked the name “Max Power”.  I thought it was a super-hero type name.  Only later did I find out that it was actually Homer Simpson’s temporary name in a “Simpson’s” episode (which was actually quite entertaining…yes, I had to watch the episode after I heard the evolution of Max’s name).  Homer got his new name from a hair dryer setting. Don’t worry little Max, Mom and Dad didn’t name you after a power setting on a hair dryer. It really was a name that Dad liked… a lot!  Quote in the last photo is from the Simpson’s episode.

Thanks for coming out to see us, Mom and Dad.  We loved meeting little Max, he was the cutest!  Here’s your sneak peek:

The last time we saw little Maile was 6 years ago.We did her newborn shoot, and I had the pleasure of meeting Mom and Dad.   Click HERE to see her 2009 newborn shoot. Since then, Maile has become a big sister (twice!).  We met Malia and Moani this time around, and needless to say, I had to repeat their names in my head multiple times in order to keep all the “M”s straight in my mind  🙂  It was an early morning shoot, and although the beach was beautiful, we were fighting the rapidly rising sun (and wind). We managed to find a nice grassy area that was shielded from both the direct sun and wind, and spread out a beautiful blanket that Mom brought with her. Thanks for meeting me so early in the morning, Mom and Dad…I hope you all had a great breakfast after our shoot!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Sophie is my little muse.  We first met Sophie before she was one…and we fell instantly in love with her cute little face and warm, expressive eyes (click HERE to see Sophie’s most recent shoot; click HERE to see Sophie’s most recent solo shoot).  I am truly captivated by Sophie’s eyes and charming (and sometimes enigmatic) little expressions…it’s never a dull moment! Even when she isn’t smiling, I love the little smirk she gives us. It’s like she’s teasing us  😉  Very rarely will I have a little one that will remain in one place long enough to take close ups of their faces.  It’s even rarer that I find a child that will stare back into the camera for me, and when I do, I take full advantage of it. Sophie, your expressions are so full of character, and I could photograph you forever! Thank you, Mom and Dad for securing this private location for us (and thank you to Soph’s aunt and uncle for allowing us to use their beautiful home). Here’s your sneak peek:

We couldn’t wait to meet baby Mila! She was actually overdue, so we had to reschedule her shoot for a later date. She must have wanted to spend a little alone time with Mom before she met the rest of the world  🙂  Mila slept like a champ for us, which always makes our job so much easier! She was also our first official “Santa” baby of 2015. Mila’s eyes were beautiful, almost like she had eyeliner on them…lucky girl! Thanks for introducing us to Mila, Mom and Dad…she was an angel  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

I absolutely love this family! Brooke and Troy (and Mom and Dad, of course) are so EASY to work with. Click HERE to see their 2014 shoot. Even from our very first shoot with them 2 years ago, I fell in love with their sweet questions and comments, and happy smiles.  This year was no exception. Both Brooke and Troy took direction amazingly well, and didn’t complain about wardrobe and prop changes at all. Brooke-I’m so happy that your arm is OK, and that you got your cast off in time for our shoot…you did an amazing job  🙂  Troy- I just want to pinch your cheeks every time I see your angelic little smile! Mom and Dad, thanks for letting us share in your holiday memories again this year!  Here’s your sneak peek:

It was so great seeing Dylan again!  We just saw Dylan and his family a few months ago, and we were lucky enough to see him again for his Christmas photos  🙂  Click HERE to see Dylan’s previous photo shoot. I love looking at Dylan’s photos, especially the ones where he’s so happy, he’s clapping. His little mouth opens, and he has a sparkle in his eye. He particularly liked our chimney prop…he loved popping up and down, and expressed his joy by clapping and laughing. What a sweetie!  Thanks again for sharing your wonderful family with us, Mom and Dad! Here’s your sneak peek:
