Things happen for a reason…they really do. Poor Cody’s shoot had to be rescheduled about 5 times before we had this perfect, beautiful afternoon. I can’t believe how time flies. It seems like we just did Cody’s sister’s senior portrait shoot (click HERE to see Lexi’s shoot). Cody, thanks for being so easy to work with. The sun was bright, and there were tons of people on the beach…but Cody made my job so easy. Toward the very end of our shoot, I saw some beautiful light in a clearing, and took some of his baseball shots in the light. We were already done with his formal shots and outfit, but I asked him to change back into his original outfit so we could utilize that soft warm light. It was definitely worth it…thanks Cody! Thank you to Cody’s family, for joining us. It was wonderful to see all of you again! Here’s your sneak peek:

Happy Birthday, Brynne! It was a slightly overcast but otherwise beautiful day, and we were thrilled to see Adrienne and Brynne again 🙂 It’s been almost 9 months since we last saw them, and in that time, I feel like they each grew at least a foot! I loved that little Brynne tried to copy big sister, Adri all afternoon (note the jumping photos below…so cute!). They both jumped, twirled, and ran together. Brynne even tried to do the same poses that Adrienne did. They wore the cutest little dresses, and sparkly rubber shoes (“Jellies” back in the ’80s!). Both girls wanted to show off their pretty shoes and floral dresses. So swirly and twirly 🙂 Some of my favorite shots are always of Dad interacting with the girls. They always seem to have so much fun! Click HERE to see our previous shoot with Adri and Brynne. Thanks Mom and Dad, it was great seeing all of you again! Everyone was healthy, and the weather held up for us this year. Yay! Here’s your sneak peek:

We’ve been blessed with a bunch of extremely easy to work with clients, and Austin was no exception. He came prepared for his shoot (we started off with a few baseball shots), then continued on to the more traditional senior portrait shots in record time. Austin was so patient. It was pretty hot and bright, and our location had quite a few visitors… but you never would have guessed it, because he kept that smile on his face like a seasoned pro. He even offered to help us carry our equipment! It was great to reconnect with you Mom! Your kindness and sweetness are immeasurable, and you should be so proud of Austin. You raised a wonderful son (I still can’t believe that it’s been over 10 years since I last saw Austin!). Thank you very much for driving out to meet us. Here’s your sneak peek:

Sometime, we just get a baby that loves to smile…and baby Kellen was definitely a smiler! We think he got those smiles from his parents 🙂 He must be one happy little guy! Mr. Smiles also did a great job of smiling for us. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for being so calm and taking the time to read our suggestions for maximizing your Newborn photo shoot. I think it worked, because he was a sleepy little angel for us. So tiny, so precious! Thank you for driving out to us, we were so honored to meet you all. Here’s Kellen’s sneak peek:

He was part of all of our lives. Tobi was a member of my brother’s wedding. He posed for photo shoots. He even exchanged birthday, Christmas, Boy’s Day and Halloween presents with Bradley…his cards were always affectionately signed, “Love and Licks, Tobi”. He brought joy to everyone he met, and his gentle ways made us all smile. Tobi was loved by all of us, but most of all, by his mother. He was her co-pilot, her baby and her best friend. In my next life, I want to come back as a dog taken care by someone just like Tobi’s mom. He knew he was loved, and he gave so much love back. We will miss you, sweet Tobi. Until we all meet again, sweet angel!
Hugs to all of you!
Little David is officially a big brother! Welcome Noah, one of the cutest one-month olds we’ve ever met 🙂 He had a ton of hair (just like David had as a baby), and inquisitive eyes that made us fall in love with him. Noah was beyond the age of a newborn, but he was still tiny enough to fit in our wooden bowl. Mom was worried that he wouldn’t be awake enough to open his eyes for the shoot…but Noah knew the shoot was coming, and he saved his best “eye-open” poses for us 😉 Congratulations, Mom, Dad and David! We loved meeting sweet Noah, and it was great to see David again (we call David “Bradley Junior” because he reminds us so much of our son when he was little)! We knew little Stella before she was even born! It’s always amazing to do a maternity shoot with a mom and dad, then do a newborn shoot with them a few weeks later. So much has happened to these families over the past weeks, and the look in their eyes is indescribable. It’s a look of pure love, so genuine and sweet. The look says, “I’ll do anything for you, little one.” Life truly is a miracle. We were blessed enough to capture little Stella while she was safe and warm in her mommy’s tummy (click HERE to see Mom’s maternity shoot), and we were equally blessed to meet her in person during her newborn shoot. Stella had the most beautiful lips and slender little fingers. Such a tiny little angel. Mom and Dad even ordered their own outfit for her newborn shoot…how lucky is this little girl?! Thank you for coming out to see us, and for letting us capture little Stella as a newborn. The next time we will see her (at 6 months), she will be a big girl! Here’s your sneak peek:

Congratulations, Mikey, you are officially a “Big Brother”! (Click HERE to see Mikey’s previous shoot.) We couldn’t wait to meet little Roman. Glad that everyone was feeling better (we postponed his shoot a week because Mikey and Mom were sick the prior week). 🙂 Mikey did a great job posing with his baby brother…loved that smile! Mom mentioned that Roman was experiencing tummy problems this week, but we never would have guessed he was having a problem. He posed on his tummy without a single whimper (sometimes older babies don’t like to curl up on their tummies), and tolerated our wardrobe changes with ease. Mom and Dad brought in Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” painting. They wanted to incorporate it into each of Roman’s 4 photo shoots (they purchased the Newborn Shoot Package, which comes with a Newborn, 6-Month, 9-Month and 1 Year shoot) to show how much he’s grown over the course of his first year. We’ve used clothes and stuffed animals before to document growth over the first year, but using a painting was a first for us…what a wonderful idea! It was great to see all of you again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful little joy with us. Here’s your sneak peek:

T was absolutely glowing! Both she and her husband were eagerly looking forward to the birth of their upcoming daughter, and we could feel the anticipation in the air. I took one look at those sweet little baby shoes, and I knew immediately that this was going to be one lucky little girl…blessed with a wonderful, loving family. Needless to say, I know that Mom is going to be the envy of every pregnant woman seeing this post. She was so poised and beautiful (dare I say, elegant?). Really, who manages to look elegant a month before they are supposed to give birth?! Thank you, Mom, Dad, Grandma and Poet (love you, little fur baby!), you were all so easy to work with. Looking forward to seeing you for your upcoming newborn shoot in a few short weeks! Mom, hope you get some rest these last few weeks! Here’s your sneak peek:

Our first newborn shoot of 2015! Lily was absolutely precious! She was so tiny, but had the biggest beautiful brown eyes, EVER 🙂 She began our shoot wide awake, but eventually closed those amazing eyes so we could take some prop shots. It was great to see Michael (3 years) again! Click HERE and HERE to see his previous shoots. I remembered that he had the cutest little bear outfit on in his last shoot, which inspired me to use a newborn “girly” bear outfit for Lily. Mom was incredibly calm (which really rubs off on our newborns), thank you! It was also wonderful to see Lily and Michael’s cousins, Maile and Maverick (click HERE to see their previous shoot). We love to see familiar faces! All of the kids did a great job of posing for their “cousin” photos. Being photogenic must run in the family! Thanks Mom and Dad (and Aunty and Uncle) for driving out to our studio. It was a fun Sunday morning! Here’s your sneak peek:
