Another year has passed, and Lauryn was up and running (the last time we saw little Lauryn was HERE at 6 months, and at that time she had just mastered sitting up). Renyn was also one year older, and even more handsome than he was a year ago! He was a little chatterbox with us, and was eager to talk about his preschool experiences  🙂  Time just flies by! Poor Lauryn fell and scraped her knee just as our shoot began…but the tears quickly dried, and were replaced with smiles. Renyn was such a big help…he did his “arm swing” thing that seemed to thrill Lauryn into smiling for us. I also had a great time at the shoot (and it’s the first time I’ve ever shot with a spam musubi balancing on my head, LOL!).  Oh the things we do for a smile…   Mom and Dad, it was great to see you again!  Here’s your sneak peek:

They were the type of family that you know has a ton of every single day…they enjoy each others’ company, and I felt like I was watching a modern day “Leave it to Beaver” family. We’ll call our family the “Cleavers”  🙂 We thought it was just adorable that little Brynne copied EVERYTHING that big sis, Adrienne, did.  Adrienne was a doting older sibling, and Brynne happily followed along in Adrienne’s footsteps. Brynne grew so much since our last photo shoot (click HERE to see Brynne’s 1-year old photo shoot), and time just seems to be flying by! Thanks for being a fabulous family! We enjoy our annual photo shoots with all of you…thank you!!! Click HERE to see their 2012 photo shoot with us.  Here’s your sneak peek:

We were in for what we thought would be one of our bigger challenges this past weekend…a hybrid newborn/child photo shoot with 3-month old twins. Jacie and Jake were born three months ago, but spent much of that time in the NICU because they were preemies. Mom was referred to us by this set of twins’ mom (click HERE to see Elle and Rob’s last photo shoot with us), and gave us a call.  We were delighted to do the photo shoot, but I warned mom that even though Jacie and Jake were small for three month olds, the shoot may still prove to be difficult because of their alertness levels (we typically do newborn shoots within the first 3 weeks of life).  Mom acknowledged, and said that it was important for her to catch these moments with her sweet babies before they grew any more (and boy do babies grow quickly!).  We couldn’t have asked for a better set of 3 month olds!  We fell in love with their chubby little hands and feet, and they both slept more than we thought they would. So angelic! I always think it’s funny to see twins interact with each other…particularly at this age, because as soon as they sense that they are nearing in proximity to each other, they start stretching out their arms and legs. I’m sure this is what they did on a regular basis in Mom’s tummy  🙂  Thanks for driving out to meet us, Mom and Dad! Jacie and Jake were absolutely precious.  We can’t wait to see you again in a couple of months!  Here’s your sneak peek (as I promised, we kept your “Christmas outfits” off the blog so they would be a surprise for your Christmas cards!):

She looked absolutely radiant in her Hanbok (traditional Korean dress)! The bright, happy colors mimicked Mia’s bright, happy personality  🙂  We loved her “scrunchy” smile…just look at that last photo in our post.  What a cutie!  Mia did such a great job in the studio, I think she surprised Mom and Dad with her delightful posing. She had a blast outside, and enjoyed running free in the wind.  It was wonderful meeting all of you! Mom and Dad, thank you for sharing your sweet little girl with us…it was a pleasure working with you.  Here is your sneak peek:

From the moment I saw that tiny swirl of hair on his forehead, I was smitten! Even looking at the photos now makes me want to run my fingers across that sweet little whorl.  Isaiah was absolutely precious…and he did an amazing job for us during his newborn shoot.  Mom opted for a more “natural” type of shoot (of course, I had to get a few props in…), and baby Isaiah slept like an absolute angel as we moved him from prop to prop.  Congratulations big sister, Suriel (click HERE to see her previous shoot with us, along with links to her other past shoots)!  We even had the pleasure of meeting Grandma and Grandpa  🙂  It was wonderful to meet you both!  This was also a first for Dad in the studio…isn’t he handsome!  Isaiah, you are blessed with an amazing family.  Thank you all for driving out to see us!  Here is your sneak peek:

It was our first official Christmas shoot of the season, and I could not believe I was looking at the same Aiden we saw back in 2011 (click here to see his 2011 shoot with us)! He was all grown up. Aiden was talking, running, and even started preschool…but he was still the same cutie we saw almost 2 years ago.  We loved his smile and animated laughs-what a ham! If only we videoed his “firefighting skills” with that fire extinguisher  🙂  Loved that Mom and Dad brought the firefighter’s outfit and coordinating firetrucks.  Thanks for a fun afternoon, Aiden!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Another one of our newborns has officially turned 1, and he’s celebrating it in a very *magical* way! Mikey’s first birthday party was held at the Aulani Disney Hotel. It was our first time at the resort, and it was amazing!  It truly seemed like a “Hawaiian” Disney Hotel, complete with the themed architecture and “Aloha Attire” Mickey and Minnie.

Mikey was a brave little boy, sharing smiles and “high fives” with Mickey:

Balloon animals and helium filled balloons were a hit (especially with the birthday boy!):

Can you believe how much these little guys have grown in a little under a year and a half? We first met Elle and Rob as newborns (click HERE to see their newborn shoot). Since then, we’ve been following them on their journey (click HERE to see their last shoot with us).  This is the fourth time we’ve seen them, and they are growing at an incredible rate! Each twin has his/her own distinct personality…but both are equally lovable!  Thanks for sharing their sweet smiles and fun personalities with us, Mom and Dad  🙂  It’s been an amazing 17 months!  Here’s your sneak peek:

We met Lauren in summer school. Bradley began playing with her in the last few weeks of school, but you would have thought they knew each other for a lifetime at our shoot. Bradley even took a nap so he would be “in a good mood” for Lauren (naps are not easy to come by nowadays). Mom asked for an outdoor/beach shoot…and we couldn’t have asked for a better location!  It was a beautiful afternoon, and not only did they have access to the shoreline, their condo also featured an amazing courtyard. I could have shot in that courtyard forever. It was absolutely gorgeous!

I loved the way the sunlight reflected off of Lauren’s strawberry blonde hair. Her playful freckles only added to her sweet personality 🙂  The best part of the shoot? She LOVED to pose for me (she came up with every single pose on her own, with no direction from me at all). I asked Mom if she had practiced “posing” with Lauren, and she refused to take credit for it…Lauren just loved the camera! Most children need a “warm up” period, typically starting off shy and timid.  Not little Lauren, she was ready to go right from the start! Totally uninhibited and I loved it!!!

Mom and Dad, hope you have settled in to your new home! We will miss you…please come back and visit us in Hawaii soon! As Bradley said, “Mom, I remember that day with Lauren…it was a great day. I had so much fun!”  Here’s your sneak peek:

We shot his cousin, David (click HERE and HERE to see his previous shoots), twice…and it was finally time to meet Richard. Prior to this, we had only seen photos of Richard (we received an adorable birth announcement!).  Now that Richard and his family were visiting here in Hawaii, we were fortunate enough to see him for one of his most important life milestones…his first birthday!  We loved his big-boy, toothy grin 🙂  We also took a few fun “cousin” photos (which meant we got to see David for a third time in a little over 4 months!).  Thank you Mom, Dad and Aunty for driving out to see us! We enjoyed seeing the boys…may they be best friends in the years to come.  Happy Birthday, Richard!!!  Hope you and your family had a great trip! Here’s your sneak peek:
