He was a perfect mixture of Mommy and Daddy…all rolled into a little ball of cuteness! Sleepy baby Taycyn did a wonderful job of falling asleep for us. Dad initially wanted our “job to be easy” (i.e., “You don’t have to do a lot of props, just some natural stuff.”). We did a lot of “just baby” shots, and ended the shoot with a few props (I knitted the blanket, fishing hat and fish…and I just had to get them in there!). Thank you for including us in another one of your life milestones, Mom and Dad (click HERE to see their engagement shoot ,and HERE for their wedding). You’ve included us  in your journey together, and we feel so fortunate to be able to enjoy it along with you  🙂 Welcome to the world, little Taycyn!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Fate brought us together 🙂 After a slight change of circumstances, Little Jordan’s mommy called me to schedule a newborn shoot on Friday.  Fortunately, I previously cleared our weekend schedule because Edson and I were slated to work at Bradley’s school’s carnival on Friday and Saturday…and I thought we’d be too pooped to do a newborn shoot on Sunday. The stars were aligned however, and we were destined to meet this little angel…and we’re so glad we had the honor and privilege of meeting Jordan and her parents. I don’t think we could have asked for a better Mom and Dad.  They faithfully followed our “Newborn Parent Instructions” handout, and came prepared for Jordan’s session. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for being so wonderful! Jordan was a perfect little sweetie. Hugs!

She was so tiny and precious, and she looked exactly like her big brother did when we did his newborn shoot three years ago.  As soon as Dad took Bree out of the car, I couldn’t help but notice that she was a spitting image of Brody (click HERE for Brody’s newborn shoot with us).  Click HERE for Brody’s first birthday party. We love babies within the first week, the earlier, the better! They fall asleep fairly quickly, and stay asleep for longer periods of time. They also fit in so many of our props (props that have literally taken over our house and garage!).  Bree was a perfect, sleepy angel. She only awoke for the last 5 minutes of our shoot. Big brother Brody did an amazing job as well! He gave us his “light up the room” smile, and was very caring toward his new little sister. Thank you Mom and Dad for being so easy to work with, it really makes our job so much easier 🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

We love to see our newborn babies come back to us as “Big Brothers” and “Big Sisters”! The first time we met Big Brother Kesan was at his own newborn shoot (click HERE to see Kesan’s newborn shoot with us). We were fortunate to see Kesan again last year for his 10 month old shoot (click HERE to see Kesan’s previous shoot)…and this year, we saw him as a big brother to Kasey!  Little Kasey was 10 days old when we met him. He was so tiny and sweet, with the longest, most beautiful fingers we’ve seen in a while. Kasey did an amazing job of sleeping for us, and his big brother did an amazing job of patiently waiting for his brother. I know you all drove out from so very far…thank you!!!  Mom and Dad, here’s your sneak peek:

We were in for what we thought would be one of our bigger challenges this past weekend…a hybrid newborn/child photo shoot with 3-month old twins. Jacie and Jake were born three months ago, but spent much of that time in the NICU because they were preemies. Mom was referred to us by this set of twins’ mom (click HERE to see Elle and Rob’s last photo shoot with us), and gave us a call.  We were delighted to do the photo shoot, but I warned mom that even though Jacie and Jake were small for three month olds, the shoot may still prove to be difficult because of their alertness levels (we typically do newborn shoots within the first 3 weeks of life).  Mom acknowledged, and said that it was important for her to catch these moments with her sweet babies before they grew any more (and boy do babies grow quickly!).  We couldn’t have asked for a better set of 3 month olds!  We fell in love with their chubby little hands and feet, and they both slept more than we thought they would. So angelic! I always think it’s funny to see twins interact with each other…particularly at this age, because as soon as they sense that they are nearing in proximity to each other, they start stretching out their arms and legs. I’m sure this is what they did on a regular basis in Mom’s tummy  🙂  Thanks for driving out to meet us, Mom and Dad! Jacie and Jake were absolutely precious.  We can’t wait to see you again in a couple of months!  Here’s your sneak peek (as I promised, we kept your “Christmas outfits” off the blog so they would be a surprise for your Christmas cards!):

From the moment I saw that tiny swirl of hair on his forehead, I was smitten! Even looking at the photos now makes me want to run my fingers across that sweet little whorl.  Isaiah was absolutely precious…and he did an amazing job for us during his newborn shoot.  Mom opted for a more “natural” type of shoot (of course, I had to get a few props in…), and baby Isaiah slept like an absolute angel as we moved him from prop to prop.  Congratulations big sister, Suriel (click HERE to see her previous shoot with us, along with links to her other past shoots)!  We even had the pleasure of meeting Grandma and Grandpa  🙂  It was wonderful to meet you both!  This was also a first for Dad in the studio…isn’t he handsome!  Isaiah, you are blessed with an amazing family.  Thank you all for driving out to see us!  Here is your sneak peek:

Little Emily arrived to our photo shoot bright eyed and happy. We thought we were in for a challenging (but fun) shoot because Emily is our oldest newborn shoot to date (we like to see our newborns within the first 2 weeks of life), but I told mom that we would plan for a newborn shoot, and if it didn’t work out, we would do a family photo shoot.  Big sis, Maggie, knew how to pose for family and sibling shots (she’s a pro, click HERE for her previous shoot with us). After our family shots, baby Emily nursed and fell right to sleep…and didn’t wake up for the rest of her shoot.  Amazing! She ended up being one of our easiest shoots (in terms of keeping baby asleep).  Mom and Dad, thank you for driving out and introducing us to Emily, and it was great to see Maggie again!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Even though she was over a month old, little Ella was still so tiny and precious…and she slept incredibly well for us! We usually try to schedule our newborn shoots within the first two weeks of birth for optimal newborn photos, but because of recent events and Mother’s Day, we had to photograph Ella at 5 weeks. Mom and Dad were so patient and easy to work with, thank you! A huge thank you also goes out to Zoey’s mom for the referral…we love it when our clients send us referrals (at least that means that you were happy enough with your photos to refer someone else to us, LOL!). Ella, you were amazing!  Mom and Dad, thanks for being so patient with your sneak peek:

Welcome to our new Images by Kellie Ann website and blog!  I’ve been promising a new website for over a year…it’s finally here 🙂  I still have to add photos to the “Portfolio” header, but we’re getting there.  I thought I should go ahead and launch the website so I could switch over to our new blog. You can still access our old blog by clicking on the “Old Blog” header on the “Home” page of the website.

What better way to start off our new blog, than with a newborn shoot! Yay for new beginnings 😉  Little Zoey’s newborn shoot was scheduled for a week after I was discharged from the hospital (click HERE to read about my recent health scare). I called Mom to ask her if she would be willing to reschedule (I was not supposed to be contagious at that point, but I was still taking oral antibiotics and I still had absolutely no vision in my left eye…besides, what Mom would want to expose their newborn to someone that was just released by her infectious disease physician?)  Thanks for being so flexible, Mom and Dad!  Zoey was still so tiny for a 3-week old.  She reminded us of her big sister, Emma…it seems like we just did Emma’s newborn shoot. Once Zoey fell asleep, she let us move her from prop to prop with ease. Zoey’s shoot was the perfect way for me to “return to photography”. Mom and Dad-thank you for being so patient with your post.  Here’s your sneak peek:
