Jadon was ready for his 2014 shoot! He brought his energy and big, happy smile with him  🙂  Mom and Dad brought in “stylized” pumpkins…loved them! What a great idea! Every year, Jadon’s parents arrive toting bags and boxes full of props (which we really appreciate, thank you!). Mr. Nutcracker made his final (?) appearance this year (click here  and here to see him in previous shoots).  Love how the Nutcracker documented Jadon’s growth over the past few years…another wonderful idea!  Thanks for sharing your happy little boy with us, it was great seeing all of you again!  Here’s your sneak peek:

We were greeted by the clapping of thunder as we pulled into the parking lot. The sky looked ominous, and we were definitely afraid that we were going to have to reschedule our shoot. We decided to give it a try and get in as many shots as we could before the rain. As their SUV doors opened, out popped two of the sweetest siblings we’ve photographed to date.  Brooke and Troy’s smiles literally lit up our afternoon  🙂  It’s rare that we have siblings that get along as well as Brooke and Troy do. The shoot was filled with hand holding, hugging and laughing. Mom and Dad, if you could somehow bottle that sibling love and sell it, you’d be rich!  Loved that Mom and Dad brought props (flowers and the heart balloon) to our shoot…it really shows that they were invested in their shoot.  Brooke and Troy, I hope you were able to collect a million pinecones after our shoot…if not, you can visit us anytime (we have tons in our “backyard”)!  Here’s your sneak peek:

He was Mr. Smiley for the camera…and quite possibly the strongest little boy we’ve seen to date!  Dad is a sports lover. To be more specific, a Duke sports lover (it was pretty evident when he parked his car along the curb and I spotted his license plate frame…it professed his love for the team). Don’t worry Dad, at the rate little Cameron is going, he’ll be the clean-up hitter for his little league team in no time.  This boy had power in his 5-day old arms and legs! His eye focus was amazing (just look at how he seems to be staring straight at the camera at us). Thank you for sharing your wonderful family with us, Mom and Dad! It was great to meet all of you  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

Aiden arrived to our studio toting “Grimlock“…his beloved Transformer.  He was a plethora of Transformer information, and I was impressed!  Over the course of our shoot, we sang the “Everything is Awesome” song (from the LEGO movie) at least 10 times, and shouted his Mommy and Daddy’s names at least 50 times each. Thank goodness I have a little boy myself, so I’m familiar with “little boy humor”, LOL!  I can’t believe a year has passed, but we have a blast every time we see you  🙂 (click HERE to see last year’s shoot with Aiden).  Thank you, Aiden, for making me smile…and thank you to Mom and Dad for driving out to see us. Edson nicknamed little Ethan the “Doll” and the “Hat Baby”.  As we were looking through the images from our shoot, it seemed as though Ethan knew he was having his photos taken. His eyes were amazing focused for a 6-day old baby, and he looked right at the camera for us. It looked like Mom and Dad were holding a little doll. Toward the end of the shoot, we began putting hats on Ethan, and he remained perfectly still.  His eyes were closed, and his little head propped up on his hands like a model…we put hat after hat on his head, and he didn’t move at all. Sometimes it’s a struggle just to get one hat on a newborn’s head. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for following our Parent Instructions for Newborns…it worked like a charm!  He slept like a champ! It also really helped that you called me (from the hospital) to move up your shoot because you delivered early.  The earlier we do the shoot, the easier it is for everyone  🙂  As you can see, he tolerated multiple props, outfit changes, and poses.  It was great to meet all of you!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

It was only last month that we saw little Mikey (click HERE to see his previous shoot with us), but this shoot was special. This shoot included Grandma and Grandpa…and Mikey was thrilled! He gave us a ton of smiles (thanks to Grandma’s sweet demeanor, Grandpa’s couch cushion “balancing” act, and Mommy’s rendition of the “Shake, Shake, the Mango Tree” dance). I was SO jealous that I couldn’t turn around to see everyone in action! Edson said he was worried that I was going to ask him to do the Mango Tree dance when Mom went into the photo…apparently, Mom’s dance was quite impressive, and Edson’s version would pale in comparison. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for sharing your beautiful house with us.  Despite the heat, humidity and brightness of the day, you were all incredible to work with! I can’t wait to do a morning shoot at your house  🙂  Here’s your sneak peek:

The ballroom was decked out in greys and yellows. It looked like a little girl’s fantasy world, complete with vintage birdcage centerpieces and a heavenly cookie bar! Guests were treated to delicious cupcakes, a sushi bar and fabulous cookie bar, a variety of balloons (balloons-in-balloons!), glitter tattoos, dress up photos, and hair and nails (for the kids). Emily’s mom hand made 50 personalized bath towels, complete with dainty bird material for the girls, and Angry Bird material for the boys…both perfectly matching the “bird” theme of the party. We can’t believe that little Emily has grown so quickly!  It seems like it was just yesterday that she came to us for her newborn shoot (click HERE to see Emily’s newborn shoot)! We are extremely grateful to Mom and Dad for being so wonderful to us. We even had the privilege of meeting Emily’s extended family on a couple of occasions (click HERE to see Emily and Maggie’s recent family photo shoot). We’ve had the pleasure of photographing this special family for four years…thank you so very much for sharing those special years with us.  Mom and Dad, what an amazing party!  Thank you for a great afternoon!!!  Happy Birthday, little Emily!  Hugs  🙂  Here’s your slideshow sneak peek:

The skies were dark and ominous on our scheduled shoot date. The winds picked up, and beach-goers were scrambling towards their cars…typically, not  a good sign for a photo shoot. Little Mikey and his family were wonderful sports, and decided to tough it out. We shot for about 20 minutes, then had to call it quits because it started to pour (Mikey loved it, and stuck his tongue out to catch raindrops on his tongue…adorable!). We had to reschedule the shoot for another weekend, which fortunately, blessed us with wonderful weather the second time around. Mikey’s infamous “trucks” (an assortment of tractors and various other contractions vehicles) made their appearance in both shoots. The biggest, happiest smiles?  When the trucks appeared, of course!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives, Mom and Dad. Click HERE to see Mikey’s previous shoot with us. We are eternally grateful for your patience and kindness. See you next month for your next shoot!  Here’s your sneak peek:

She was so tiny and dainty…absolutely perfect! KJ was a sleepy little angel for us, which was surprising considering she was exactly a month old. KJ barely woke up during her individual shots, but opened her beautiful eyes for us for the family photos. What a blessing! It was more than we could have ever asked for. Mom followed our “Parent Instructions” to a T, and KJ’s shoot proved to be one of our easiest shoots ever! Of course, we weren’t surprised that Mom followed through for us with her shoot prep, she is one of the most organized (and sweetest!) individuals I know. Big brother, K, was incredibly well-behaved. He brought the cutest little smile, complete with heart melting dimples, to our shoot. K was so articulate, it was hard to believe that the words coming out of his mouth were coming from a little guy that wasn’t even 2 1/2 yet! Thanks, Mom and Dad, for sharing your cuties with us…we are so honored to be a part of your lives (click HERE for their wedding, and click HERE for their engagement photo shoot). You make a wonderful family!!! Here’s your sneak peek:

Of course, Mommy came prepared to little Zoey’s shoot  😉  She brought balloons, towel elephants (that she made…of course!), beautiful dresses and a bubble gun.  Could we ask for anything more?  Just amazing!  Little Zoey was 14-months, and as smiley as ever. Click HERE to see Zoey’s newborn shoot, and click HERE to see her most recent shoot with us. She seemed to enjoy hamming it up for our camera, and was particularly thrilled with the bubbles (just look at that gleeful smile!). Big sister, Emma, shared in the fun. She loved the bubbles and balloons just as much as Zoey! I can’t believe how much Emma’s grown (click HERE to see Emma’s newborn shoot, and click HERE to see her 1-year shoot). In total, I think we’ve had about 12 shoots with Emma and Zoey’s family (we even had 2 shoots with Mom before big sis, Emma, was born!).  Thank you so very much for being so loyal and wonderful to us…we couldn’t have asked for a more supportive family.  Bless you all!  Here’s your sneak peek:
