Every year, I look forward to Emma and Zoey’s photo shoot, because they always have a theme.  Click HERE for their 2017 shoot.  I know Mom plans for weeks/months for her shoots…and this year was no exception.  Mom and her bestie, Lauren, furnished all of the props for this shoot (including the tent, blankets, s’mores equipment, lanterns, candles, signage, etc.).  Mom knew that she wanted a campfire theme, so she researched and purchased a camping permit so we could have the fire for her photos.  She even did a search to see what the fire pits looked like at each of the campsites.  Mosquitos were particularly vicious, because of the foliage and the setting sun.  Lucky for us, Edson brought some repellant, however we didn’t get to poor Lauren in time.  I’m so sorry, Lauren!  You were such a big help, and it’s always great to see you!  Thank you, Mom and Dad, for being so invested in your shoots.  I loved the “I’ve been Naughty” “I’ve been Nice” signs…I know little Zoey wasn’t thrilled about holding the “Naughty” sign, but of course, big sister Emma made her laugh!  The s’more were delicious, and the theme was so creative.  Thanks also for tolerating the mud…oh boy was it muddy!!!  Here is your sneak peek:

Mikey and Roman were very excited to share their newest “toy” with me.  They ran outside to show me their swing (which wasn’t there the last time I went to their house to do a photo shoot).  Click HERE to see their 2017 photo shoot.  Oh, the smiles that were elicited when they swung back and forth…pure enjoyment! I loved the look of exhilaration on their faces when they said, “Watch this!”  Mikey still was a gentle soul.  Those big soulful eyes…windows to his sweet little heart.  Roman was a bundle of energy and silliness (which I loved).  He was very excited to go to his Halloween carnival that afternoon, where he and his big brother were going to be pirates!  Mom and Dad, it was great to see you again this year!  Thanks for opening your house up to me again this year.  Don’t worry, next year, I will be well-versed in the latest version of Angry Birds so I can discuss game strategy with Mikey again  😉  Have a wonderful holiday season!  Here’s your sneak peek:

It was an exercise in patience for Alex and Matthew…and they were ever so patient!  We started off the shoot in a really challenging area (a long hallway).  It was one of the main thoroughfares in the building, so there was heavy foot traffic.  We would all wait for people to walk up the hallway, then we had literally 5 seconds to get a few shots in before someone else decided to walk up or down the hallway (and it was a really long hallway!).  Alex, Matthew and his parents were darting in and out of hallway, and they all did it so gracefully  😉  The lighting was tricky in some of the rooms (the walls were mostly pink, and the lighting was a bright orange), but the venue itself was beautiful and classic.  The boys did a great job, especially considering there were a million distractions, and it was EXTREMELY HUMID.  Thanks for being little troopers, Alex and Matthew!!!  It was great seeing you again this year!  (Click HERE to see their 2017 shoot.) We fell in love with Brixten the minute he came out of the car.  He was neatly packed in his car seat, and he looked like such a tiny little bundle. Those eyes…so big and chocolatey brown.  They just made you want to melt.  He was quite alert by the time we were able to do his shoot, but I loved it, because his eyes were bright and focused.  Big brother, Brighten was equally adorable (and he had those beautiful eyes too!).  Brixten and Brighten…I love those names!  Mom and Dad, thanks for being so patient and easygoing.  Your boys did an amazing job!  Thanks also for bringing in the Pats beanie, it fit perfectly!  Congratulations on your new joy!  Brixten, happy first holiday season!  Here’s your sneak peek:

I had my concerns about the weather for our shoot with the S Family.  As I was driving home earlier that afternoon, it was storming.  The highway was flooding, and I thought we were going to have to reschedule our shoot.  On our way over to the shoot, the skies were surprisingly clear (and the ground was relatively dry).  The sky was overcast, but there was a bit of sun peeking through.  It’s always a pleasure seeing Brooke and Troy (click HERE to see their 2016 shoot).  This time around, they had a new edition for their holiday photos, Kelysse (click HERE to see Kelysse’s newborn shoot).  Brooke and Troy are always so patient, and they are one of our favorite families.  Brooke is always so gentle and mature (I feel like she’s years older than her actual age), and Troy is a bundle of fun and action…with a sweet and happy smile  🙂  Kelysse was a little champ. In her young age, she was already so patient with us as we tried to prop her up on the grass to take her individual photos.  As we were wrapping up the shoot and finishing up our paperwork, the rains came.  It was a torrential downpour, and I had to dart back to my car as a stream of water ran over my feet and rain pelted my head.  We made it just in time!!!  Thanks for a great afternoon shoot, Mom and Dad!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Dylan and Jaxon were so handsome in their little aloha shirts and matching shorts!  They were equally stunning in their long sleeved dress shirts and slacks.  We were very impressed that both boys tolerated their outfit changes, and held their heads up long enough to take those sibling shots on their tummies.  I wanted to pinch their cheeks when I was editing their photos…they were just too adorable.  Mom and Dad, your boys did such a great job!  It was wonderful meeting all four of you  🙂  Hope you all enjoy your very first Christmas together.  Congratulations!!!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Little did Renyn and Lauryn know that this year, they would be a meal for about a million mosquitos.  Poor kiddos, they were covered with mosquito bites within minutes of starting our shoot.  In fact, the majority of my post processing for this shoot consisted of Photoshopping out both mosquitos and mosquito bites from Renyn and Lauryn’s arms and legs.  They did such a great job of trying to sit still for our shoot…a difficult feat when you are being feasted on.  We marched through mud and plant life, trying to get our photos, and we waited so patiently for our turn on the branch of that tree (we got there just in time to have an entire party setting up their tents directly behind the tree).  Lots of Photoshopping there too…we had tents, poles, people, coolers, and leaf blowers all over the place behind the kids.  Renyn and Lauryn, you did such a great job at staying focused for our photos so we could get them over with (to escape those vicious mosquitos)!  It was great seeing you again this year, Mom and Dad!  Click HERE to see their 2017 shoot.  Thanks again for being so flexible with your schedule.  I hope you have all recovered from the mosquitos!  Here’s your sneak peek:

Sometimes I forget how creative little minds can be.  Adri and Brynne were so eager to start their photo shoot, and they were particularly interested in crossing the stream so they could “pose in the trees”.  I love how they constantly asked, “How about here?”  “I could hold the flower like this, and you could take a photo of me.”  We’ve photographed these sisters since they were newborns, and I love seeing them every year in their matching outfits.  Click HERE to see their 2017 shoot. Their dresses were gorgeous (that’s one of my favorite colors), and they were good sports about wearing their shoes on the VERY soft stream bank.  Loved all the hugging photos. I think you are the most affection sisters, and I hope you stay that way forever!  Thanks again for another great year, Mom and Dad!  It was great seeing you all again.  Here’s your sneak peek:

It’s our 10 year anniversary with the T Family!  We’ve been shooting this family for a decade already…where has the time gone?  It’s been so long, that we no longer list Jansen’s age anymore on the blog post!!!  Jansen, Jalen (17), Jorel (13) & Jasper (5)…Jalen, you are next to have the numbers disappear from the end of your name.  Since that time, my little ham (Jorel) has become a teenager, and Jasper has graced our presence.  Click here to see their 2017 shoot.  I always love the family dynamics, and since Jasper entered their lives, it’s been a joy to see them welcome their little brother wholeheartedly.  Jasper has always liked the water.  I remember seeing one of his biggest smiles in a social media pic.  He was sitting in a bucket of water, and his smile was HUGE!  Fast-forward a couple of years, and his love for water has only grown stronger.  So many smiles from the little man as he waded in the ocean!  I initially thought that we were going to have to reschedule our shoot, but the rain stayed away until the very end of our shoot.  We even had a rainbow in the distance  🙂  Mom and Dad, as always, it was great seeing all of you again this year.  Happy 10th anniversary to us!  Happy belated birthday to Jansen too.  Here’s your sneak peek:
